The Story of the Hairy Socks

Dear Reader,

This weekend is Father's Day. If you want a project for your children to do, you can download the pages for dads from my All About Bundle - a perk of being a subscriber! All About My Dad.pdf

This year for Father's Day, I got my husband socks. Even though that's a "textbook gift" for the occasion, I'm a little unsure about giving them to him because of what happened last time I got him socks. That was for his birthday a few months before we got married. So, yeah, it's been a while. Don't worry, he's bought himself socks since, so he's well-stocked.

Now, I don't think the socks gave him any grief before we got married, but once mixed with my laundry, we realized that these socks had the unfortunate tendency to collect long hair. A lot of hair. And it was time-consuming to pick it all off before wearing the socks. My husband is a gracious person, and he never complains about it, but I know if I see him putting on those socks, it's time to do laundry, because they're probably the last ones in his drawer.

So, we'll see how these socks turn out!

Socks aside, I have finally finished Book 4. Proofreading took a while, and I did my best to cut out more of the chit-chat dialog so it's hopefully easier to read now. I always enjoy feedback from my test readers; some of it makes me laugh out loud. More than one pointed out the phrase "Lucy twisted around her watch". One said, "Wow, Lucy must have a really big watch if she can twist around it!" So, I reworded that. Same with "Esther slid over the plate" because evidently one beta reader thought Esther got on the table and slid herself over the plate. One reader caught about 20 spots where I was completely missing a word, like where I wrote "It can't prevented" instead of "It can't be prevented". It's nice to have a variety of readers that are good at noticing different things!

Not a single reader flagged the two instances of "Gramp seed dressing", so evidently, they all think it's a real recipe. In reality, I changed the grandfather's name from Poppy to Gramp by using the find and replace feature in Microsoft Word...!

Here is the cover image. I wish it was ready for you to read right now, but printing will take a bit, so the picture will have to suffice. Stay tuned for its release, along with another book I'm excited to share with you!

Also, here's the back cover description:

Finally, there's just a few days left to get the products in the School's Out Bundle.

I've included my Scavenger Hunts in the regular bundle and my Show Your Love bundle in the premium bundle, so don't miss those!

Until next time,

Dear Reader, It's been a while since I sat down and wrote an email. Now, you're probably curious about the subject line, so I'll get to that in a moment. But first, before I forget, I'm dropping the link for the Martha 2.0 Faith-Based Bundle, which includes my Bible verse cards. So, if you're interested in faith-based resources, check out the bundle this week while it's open! Check out the bundle Now, part of why I haven't written in a while is because I was traveling. One place we went was...

Dear Reader, Over the past months, I've gotten a lot of inquiries about where Book 4 is. "Are you going to write a fourth book? We have to find out what happens!" Well, the fourth book is published, at long last! I actually have Books 5-9 written, and they have been for about 3 years now. But, it takes time to get people to review and edit them. As a busy mama, my first priority goes to my family, which is why the books are slow in coming. I do find it ironic that a book set in the winter is...

We'll keep this shorter today, Reader. I just wanted to let you know about my new book, a Bible Passage Study Book! Multiple people have asked me to sell printed out options from my Etsy shop, and this is my first attempt to do so. If you have other ideas of books you'd like to see, let me know! This is based on a method I developed as a teenager, and it really helped me dig into God's Word! Check out the new book! Sample pages are available on our website, if you click the above link.
